Steps towards Genuine and Effective Networking

The educational speaker for January 16 was Kurt Gadke with Liberty Mutual Insurance. He presented the group with a list of 9 Steps towards Genuine and Effective Networking. Some of those tips included:

  • taking people to lunch just to learn about them (not a sales call),
  • taking notes, phoning to ask questions about the person’s area of expertise,
  • and genuinely trying to help people by using your knowledge and contacts for the benefit of others first.
  • and more (I guess we should’ve been there to get all nine).
